I’m watching the first episode of Chateau Monty this Thursday evening and it looks promising!
Wine writer Monty Waldin is jacking it all in to go to France, buy a vineyard and produce biodynamic wine. Apparently, biodynamics involves the avoidance of all artifical chemicals, timing vineyard processes in accordance to lunar and stellar cycles, and relies on the balance of nature to protect and feed the crops.
From what I’ve seen so far, Montys Italian girlfriend doesn’t fancy it herself so he’s recruited a recently divorced woman who is looking to change her life. I wonder if she’ll fancy mixing cow muck together with other organic matter.
I suspect that there’s going to be the odd pitfall ahead!
If you fancy having a glass or two of Montys wine then you’re in luck. Adnams is the exclusive supplier of Monty’s Red, the end-result of Monty’s year and it’s available at £7.99 a bottle, or £89 for a 12-bottle case.
